The Sverdlovsk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case over death of a 29-year-old woman from Nizhny Tagil in the central city hospital in Beryozovsky. The said criminal case was filed in one lawsuit with the criminal case over illegal deprivation of liberty in the rehabilitation center of the fund “City without Drugs”.
Today morning Major Investigator of the Sverdlovsk Region Investigative Committee ordered to detain as a suspect an unemployed resident of Yekaterinburg Igor Shabalin, 34. The suspect was detained in the building of the investigations directorate in the presence of the suspect’s lawyer.
It should be noted, that the said procedural decision was made taking into account that there are sufficient data indicating involvement of the suspect to the facts of illegal deprivation of liberty in the rehabilitation center of “City without Drugs” and that the said man forced the witnesse to give false testimonies.
At present an investigator of the Investigative Committee with the participation of the suspect is conducting a number of necessary investigating operations and the question of the pre-trial restraining measure is being negotiated. It should also be noted that if the fact that the suspect has an illness preventing him from being isolated is confirmed, the investigators will decide on a non-custodial pre-trial restraining measure.
All necessary investigating and other procedural operations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances of the crimes.
