Progress of investigating a case over death of Alexander Litvinenko

A new meeting of London coroner court presided by sir R. Owen to look into the death of Alexander Litvinenko took place on 13 December.

During the hearing it was announced that the Russia’s Investigative Committee intended to join the process as an interested party in accordance with Coroner rules.

The Investigative Committee is a federal state body, which under the laws of the Russian Federation carries out criminal proceedings. It is this agency that carries out an inquest into the death of Alexander Litvinenko in Russia.

In the near future solicitors and barristers of the Investigative Committee are going to file a motion to the British court requesting to grand a process status for the purpose of assisting the court in comprehensive and impartial hearing of the case.
