Deputy Head of Kamchatka Territory Main Office of Russian Emergencies Ministry found guilty of illegal participation in business activity

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by Kamchatka Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict the deputy head of the Main Office of the ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense, Emergency Situations and Disaster Relief in the Kamchatka Territory in the State Fire Service. He was found guilty of the crime under article 289 of the RF Penal Code (illegal participation in business activity).

The court and investigators have found that between April 2011 and June 2012 the defendant illegally participated in running OOO KamFireService business company registered on his wife. Basically, the deputy head of a state facility used his official powers and authority to run a fire company. He also managed the funds, which were received by the company, controlled actions of the employees to provide the company with the activity that made profit, made it possible for the company to get a license for emergency rescue operations, convinced executives of firms to conclude agreements and make deals with his company.

The court has sentenced him to a fine of 50 thousand rubles and banned from occupying top executive positions for three years.
