Joint meeting between Public Council and Consult Council on providing assistance to children in children houses and those who left them took place in Investigative Committee

Joint meeting between Public Council of the Russia’s Investigative Committee and Consult Council of the same agency on providing assistance to orphans and children left without parental care has taken place today.

The meeting led by the Chairman of the Investigative Committee Mr. Alexander Bastrykin was attended by Mr. Pavel Astakhov, the Children Rights Commissioner, representatives of state authorities, educational institutions, NGOs, staff of the Central Office of the Investigative Committee and heads of regional investigations directorates.

The meeting discussed cooperation between investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee and state, municipal bodies and facilities, NGOs during revealing and eliminating circumstances contributing to crimes against minors, and with volunteer organizations and public movements when they render voluntary assistance in searching for missing children.

In addition, the meeting discussed organizational issues of activity of Consult Council of the Investigative Committee on rendering assistance to orphans and children left without parental care.
