Primorsky Territory in search for staff of Slavyanka company and military officials involved in scams

Pacific Fleet Military Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s investigative Committee has launched a criminal case over embezzlement of money during execution of a state contract containing signs of a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (swindling on an especially large scale).

In October 2011, the office of the state customer the Defense Ministry concluded a state contract with OAO Slavyanka (OJSC) on maintenance and current renovation of barracks and housing in military camps. According to investigators, in the period between October 2011 and September 2012 the works in military camp No 10 of unit 20982 in the Primorsky Territory were either not executed at all, or only a small part of it was executed. Knowing that, senior officials of Vladivostoksky branch of OAO Slavyanka drew up a delivery and acceptance certificate of the services, where they put false information about the amount of the works done. Based on these documents endorsed by officials of military unit 20982, the Defense Ministry transferred to Slavyanka 6 million rubles, from which 4 million was paid for basically not rendered services.

At present investigators are questioning officials of Vladivostoksky branch and military unit 20982, they have seized documents concerning works done at the abovementioned military camp. Investigation is to be continued.
