As part of a criminal investigation into unlawful seizure of 14 real estate objects of the "Volgograd engine plant" in excess of 500 million rubles and attempted theft by swindle of 2.1 billion rubles from the "Promsvyazbank", in which the suspect is the Deputy of the 6th convocation State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Oleg Mikheyev, the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has searched the premises of trade and business center "Diamant Zatsaritsynsky" in the city of Volgograd.
Searches were carried out in execution of the order of the investigator at the location of entities and organizations that provide legal and accounting services to firms controlled by Oleg Mikheyev. Investigating actions were carried out with the participation of witnesses and a representative of the management company of the above-said the business center. Due to the fact that Oleg Mikheyev has no formal relationship to these organizations, the investigators were not required to notify him of conducting investigating actions. Thus, the searches were conducted in full accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code.
It should be noted that the Deputy’s community liaison office is also located in the trade and business center "Diamond Zatsaritsynsky" building, but it has a separate entrance and the investigating actions were not carried out there.
In addition, the Main Investigation Directorate of the Investigative Committee is continuing to search firms involved in Mikheyev and his accomplices’ criminal schemes.
