In Kirov Region, criminal case opened against judge suspected of receiving multi-million bribe

Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin has launched a criminal case against former chairman of Vyatskie Polyany District court of the Kirov Region Sergey Kashin under part 6 of article 290 of the RF Penal Code (receiving a bribe on an especially massive scale).

According to investigators, in 2013 Kashin received a bribe of 13 million rubles for a court order given earlier in the interest of top managers of OAO Bread Baking Complex of Vyatskie Polyany relating to extraordinary meeting of shareholders to elect a new head of the facility. The judge was detained by officers of regional offices of the Investigative Committee and Federal security Service, when receiving the money.

At present investigating operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and consolidate the evidence.
