Saint-Petersburg Main Investigation Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee in close cooperation with criminalists of the Central Office of the Committee has finished investigating a criminal case against Makham Usmanov, Uzbekistani citizen, 34, charged with complicity in robberies (part 5 of article 33, paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 161 of the RF Penal Code).
The investigation has found that to rob elderly people in Saint-Petersburg Usmanov conspired with Alexey Solarev, who involved in the crimes his 8-year-old son. According to their plan, Solarev found an elderly person receiving money at a post office, then followed them to the front door of their building, where he beat them up and robbed of the money. The boy was used to distract the victim’s attention. Usmanov provided transport and helped to flee the crime scene.
This way, on 8 and 9 January 2014, they committed two assaults on elderly people, beat them up and robbed of over 43 thousand rubles. In both cases Usmanov helped Solarev and his son from the crime scene in his car, for what got 6 thousand rubles.
The investigators found that the main role in the crimes belonged to Alexey Solarev, 38, from Saint-Petersburg. This fact is confirmed by the records of CCTV camera at the front door of the building, where one of the assaults took place, and by other evidence gathered during the probe. On 20 January 2014, Solarev died of drug overdose in a flat in Industrialny prospekt.
The investigators have gathered enough evidence, therefore, the criminal case with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.
