In Krasnodar Territory bus driver suspected of violating traffic rules that resulted in injuring four people including children

A traffic accident on the highway "Novorossiysk-Kerch Strait" involving a bus "Mercedes-Benz" transporting a group of children was reported to law enforcement agencies of the Krasnodar Territory on the evening of July 9, 2014. Three children, one chaperone and the bus driver had been injured in the accident. Krasnodar Territory investigative agencies of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation have launched proceedings against the 39-year-old bus driver suspected of committing a crime under Part 1 of Article 264 of the RF Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules).

According to investigators, the bus with a group of 35 children and 2 adults on board was moving from the village of Vityazevo, Anapa District to the railway station "Tonnelnaya". During the movement the bus driver, who had not selected a safe speed mode, lost control and hit a barrier, and the bus overturned. Three children aged 10 to 14 years, one of the chaperones, and the driver were injured. They were taken to the city hospital with injuries of varying severity.

Currently, operations aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident are underway. The criminal investigation is ongoing.
