In Saint-Petersburg investigators contemplating switching to tougher charges in probe in small girl’s death after falling in swimming pool in Turkey

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the city of Saint-Petersburg continue investigating a criminal case opened over grievous bodily harm to a small girl as containing signs of a crime under part 1 of article 111 of the RF Penal Code (infliction of grievous bodily harm).

According to investigators, on 17 June 2014, in a Turkish resort a 4-year-old girl fell into a swimming pool and was under water for a long time suffering grievous bodily harm.

At present there are media reports that the girl has died, therefore, the investigators are weighing to reclassify the crime to a more grievous one. Investigating operations are under way to find out all the circumstances of the incident.
