In Khabarovsk Territory four locals found guilty of killing acting district prosecutor

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Far Eastern Federal District Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict four residents of the village of Vanino, Khabarovsk Territory: Nikita German, Vitaly Kutsy, Alexey Sorokopudov and Dmitry Krechin. They were found guilty of crimes under paragraph “c” of part 4 of article 162 of the RF Penal Code, paragraphs “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (robbery and murder).

The court and investigators have found that at night of 19 May 2013, acting prosecutor of Vanino District Sergey Naumov was traveling home in his Toyota Camry and agreed to give a lift to 4 local residents. On their way the drunk passengers decided to rob the official. During the assault the men used violence, wounded the victim which led to his death. They got hold of his car and 5 thousand rubles.

The investigators checked all the circumstances of the crime during the probe. Special attention was paid to versions relating to possible murder motivated by personal dislike and to his professional activity. However, neither of them was confirmed, while the evidence point that the acting prosecutor fell a victim to a robbery-related murder by individuals, who were not aware of the position he occupied.

The court has sentenced Nikita German to 20 years in prison, Vitaly Kutsy to 21 years, Alexey Sorokopudov to 24 years and Dmitry Krechin to 25 years, all to be served in a maximum-security colony.
