The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Rostov Region have launched a criminal investigation against a director of a construction company located in the town of Shakhty. He is suspected of a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 199 of the RF Penal Code (evasion of paying company taxes on a very large scale).

According to investigators the suspect evaded payment of company over 16 million of taxes by putting knowingly false information in a VAT statement over 4^th quarter of 2008.

The crime was revealed during a tax inspection by the Tax Inspection for the Rostov Region and joint operations carried out by the investigators of the Investigative Committee and police officers of the Rostov Region Office of the Federal Security Service.

At present a number of investigative operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime. The investigation is ongoing.
