Volgograd Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee continue investigating a criminal case opened over murder of a 10-year-old girl, her 34-year-old father and 61-year-old grandfather (paragraphs “a” and “c” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code).

On 16 February the bodies were found by the girl’s younger brother when he came home after school in the town of Volzhsky.

According to preliminary conclusion of an expert in forensic medicine the girl died of two stab wounds in her chest, her father died of 7 stab wounds to front and back parts of chest and arms and the grandfather of 4 stab wounds in chest. In addition, experts found that all the victims had brain injuries. Victims’ cell phones and a laptop were missing from their flat.

A person involved in the murder was identified within few hours thanks to coherent work of investigators and police operatives. It is unemployed 37-year-old victim’s uncle who has no previous convictions. The man was apprehended in his flat while being under the influence of psychotropic drugs.

Investigators have searched the suspect’s residence. During the search of his garage and nearby area they found the grandfather’s cellphone and a laptop stolen from the victims’ flat.

Custodial restrain is expected soon. Investigative operations are underway to gather evidence.
