Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee are carrying out a pre-investigative check of reports published in mass media that a pair of on-year-old twins have been found famished and without any attendance in a house in the village of Kratovo.

According to preliminary information, the parents left the babies home and left for the town of Khimki to work for a long period of time. The twins’ mother had allegedly left some food to a neighbor and paid her some money for taking care of the children. However, the neighbor had just locked the babies inside the house and left. As a result the boys had no food or water for at least a week. Neighbors found the boys unconscious and called an ambulance. The emergency team delivered the twins to central district hospital in the town of Ramenskoye.

A check is underway and investigators are going to find out all the circumstances of the crime. A procedural decision will be made following the check.
