In North Ossetia officials of ministries and agencies questioned in Alagir District mass poisoning case

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania continue investigating a criminal case over unsafe services provided in Alagir District (part 1 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code).

According to investigators, the reason for poisoning people was an acute enteric infection found in tap water. Since 8 June 2015, 461 people have been hospitalized, with 269 of them are children.

At the present time the investigators have assigned forensic inquiries, have confiscated necessary documents, questioned over 400 victims and witnesses. In addition, they are questioning officials of ministries and agencies of the Republic and Alagir Diestirct responsible for safe supply of water. The investigation is ongoing.
