Opening ceremony of affiliate of Investigative Committee Academy held in Saint-Petersburg

A stately opening ceremony of the Saint-Petersburg affiliate of the Investigative Committee Academy took place on 1 September and was attended by Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin, Presidential Plenipotentiary in Northwestern Federal District Vladimir Bulavin, Minister of Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Vladimir Artamonov, a number of employees of the Investigative Committee Central Office and senior officials of investigations directorates in Northwestern Federal District, representatives of authorities and law-enforcement bodies of saint-Petersburg and cadets.

Opening the Academy on the Knowledge Day, the Investigative Committee Chairman noted that the universities of Saint-Petersburg honorably continued traditions of serving to the homeland, including in the field of law enforcement and wished the students success in their studies.

The guests congratulated the students and teachers on the beginning of the academic year. The first intake consists of 50 students from different regions of Russia. They are going to study full time for 5 years and after that to join ranks of officials of the Investigative Committee. During the opening ceremony Mr. Bastrykin delivered lecture: Serving People – Serve Motherland.
