Six gangsters of Gagiyev’s gang jailed in Rostov Region

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the North Caucasus Federal District Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict six members of a criminal community headed by Aslan Gagiyev – Artur Tibilov, Valery Pliyev, Oleg Khamitsev, Chermen Sugarov, Azamat Sidakov and Tamerlan Kozyrev. Depending on the role of each one, they are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 210 of the RF Penal Code (membership in a criminal community), part 2 of article 209 (membership in a stable armed group (gang) or participation in crimes committed by it), paragraphs “a”, “f”, “g” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder of two or more people), part 3 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms and ammunition, committed by an organized group), parts 1 and 2 of article 167 (deliberate destruction or damage of the other’s property), parts 1 and 2 of article 228 (illegal storage of drugs) and part 2 of article 326 (forgery or destruction of a car ID).

The court and investigators have revealed that, Tibilov and Pliyev were members of a gang headed by Bakhrom Sekinayev, which was a division of a criminal community set up in Moscow and North Ossetia-Alania by Aslan Gagiyev. On 25 November 2012, in the town of Alagir, North Ossetia, Tibilov and Pliyev took part in killing Taymur Kadzayev and badly injuring Zaira Zavkhalova; on 19 May 2013, in the city of Vladikavkaz – in killing Valery Laliyev and on 12 June 2013, in Vladikavkaz – in killing Alan Torchinov.

In their turn Khamitsev, Sugarov, Sidakov and Kozyrev being members of a gang headed by Oleg Dzarakhokhov, which was also a division of Gagiyev’s gang, on 14 January 2011, in the village of Chermen, North Ossetia, killed Vitaly and Vladislav Bagayev. On 13 October 2011, in the city of Vladikavkaz the accomplices killed Soslan Khugayev; on 20 December 2011 – Vadim Dzhoyev and injured Vitaly Kaytov. On 22 August 2012, the accused attempted to kill Ruslan Bdaytsiyev and injured Zalina Kusova. On 13 June 2013, in the city of Beslan, North Ossetia, during funerals four of the gangsters killed Aslan Torchinov and Albeg Playev and badly injured Tamerlan and Aslanbek Torchinov. All the murders were committed on the instructions of Aslan Gagiyev.

In addition, Tibilov, Pliyev, Khamitsev, Sugarov, Sidakov and Kozyrev took part in illegal circulation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and explosive devices, deliberate damage of property, use of forged state registration marks and illegal drug dealing.

The court sentenced Khamitsev to life in prison to be served in a special-security penal colony, Tibilov to 22 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony, Pliyev to 18 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony, Sugarov to 20 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony, Sidakov to 16 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony and Kozyrev to 17 years in prison to be served in a maximum-security penal colony.

The investigation against other members of the gang is ongoing.
