In December 2015, the mass media started publishing reports that over 25 children were taken to the regional clinical hospital with injuries in the first week of operation of the family entertaining center Chudo-Ostrov in Veliky Novgorod. The Novgorod Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee launched a check.

It was found that 35 children were taken to the regional clinical hospital after they had visited the Chudo-Ostrov Center. Four of the children were diagnosed with compression fractures of vertebral bodies and one more with a shin fracture.

At present, there is an ongoing investigation opened in a crime under part 1 of article 238 of the RF penal Code (providing unsafe services). Investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of and reasons for the incident, injuries of other children appealing for treatment after vising the entertainment center are being checked and assessed. The investigation is ongoing.
