Probe launched in attempted murder of woman in southeast Moscow

The Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has opened a criminal investigation against a 42-year-old resident of Moscow suspected of a crime under part 3 of article 30, part 1 of article 105 of the RF Penal Code (attempted murder).

According to investigators, at night of 12 January 2016, the man poured some petrol on his ex-wife, set a fire and ran away near a block of flats in Venyovskaya street in Moscow. Witnesses immediately helped the 36-year-old victim and called an ambulance. The woman in grave condition with thermal burns of her face and body was taken to a hospital.

At present a set of investigative operations are underway to find out all the details of the incident and detain the man. The investigation is ongoing.
