The Chairman of the Investigative Committee has ordered that experienced criminal investigators of the Committee’s Central Office should go to the town of Ivanovo to help in the investigation in death of people in a collapsed house.

As became known earlier, a gas explosion happened in a flat of a house in Minskaya Street early in the morning of 6 November 2016. According to preliminary data, 5 people were killed and another 4 injured.

The Ivanovo Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in a crime under Part 3 of Article 238 of the RF Penal Code (execution of work and provision of services that do not meet safety standards).

An initial analysis and investigative operations give reasons to the investigators to consider a gas leak as a priority version.

There is a headquarters on the scene and investigative and search operations are underway to find out all the circumstances. The investigators keep on examining the scene and have started to interview the tenants and workers of the building management company, as well as workers of gas service. Technical documents are being seized now.
