The Chelyabinsk police department got a report that a 16-year-old girl went missing. She left home in the evening of 29 October 2016 to visit her friends and did not come back.

The Chelyabinsk Region Office of the Investigative Committee started a preliminary check and during the operations carried out together with the Ministry of the Interior managed to find out the details of the girl’s disappearance and to identify the person involved in it. They revealed that a 23-year-old local resident had killed the girl. The regional investigative authority opened an investigation in a crime under Part 1 of Article 105 of the RF Penal Code (murder).

According to investigators, on the night of 30 October 2016, the suspect and the girl were in a company of their friend in a flat in Kurchatovsky District of Chelyabinsk. They had a conflict and had to step outside. The suspect stabbed the girl several times to death. The man then hid the body in forest plantations where police officers found it later.

By now the man has been held and charged with murder. The investigator is going to ask a court to place him in custody pending trial. The investigation is ongoing.
