Probe launched in negligence of authorities in catching stray dogs entailing harm to child in Magadan

The Magadan Region Office of the Investigative Committee has opened an investigation in negligence under Part 1 of Article 293 of the RF Penal Code after a malpractice by officials of the city of Magadan who failed to catch stray dogs which then bit a child.

According to investigators, on the afternoon of 28 March 2017, a pack of stray dogs attacked a 12-year-old girl near the construction and technical school located at No 56 in Gagarin Street in the city of Magadan. The girl suffered bites to her head, feet, hands, torso and broken leg and arm. Some passersby drove the animals away and called an ambulance. The girl was taken to the surgical department of the Magadan Children’s Hospital and is now out of danger.

At present the investigators are conducting necessary investigative operations to identify the guilty one (ones) and to find out all the circumstances surrounding the incident.
