The Altai Territory Office of the Investigative Committee has finished criminal proceedings against a 29-year-old resident of the town of Gornyak, Loktevsky District. The woman is charged with endangerment under Article 125, failure to discharge the duties of bringing up a minor under Article 156 and burglary by a group of people in conspiracy under Part 3, item “a” of Article 158 of the RF Penal Code.

According to investigators, on 18 January 2017, the drunken woman left her 2-year-old son unattended and went to visit her friend. She was absent for a long time without asking what happened to the child. Sometime later a stranger found the boy in an unheated and dark verandah. He helped the boy and called the police. The boy suffered no major harm.

The investigators established that the woman had been improperly discharging her parental duties for a long time. She had abused alcohol, treated him irresponsibly not taking care of his health, nourishment or hygiene.

The investigators also revealed that the woman and her friend committed a burglary in March.

The guardianship authorities refused her custody of the child.

The investigators have enough evidence, so the criminal case with the signed indictment has been referred to court.
