In Perm Territory, local resident found guilty of torturing sons and failure to discharge parental duties

A court has recognized the evidence gathered by the Perm Territory Office of the Investigative Committee as sufficient to convict a 43-year-old ex-convict from Chernushka District. The man was found guilty of torturing minors under Part 2, item “d” of Article 117 and failure to discharge parental duties under Article 156 of the RF Penal Code.

The investigation and court have revealed that from July to December 2015, the accused regularly beat and inflicted physical and mental sufferings to his 8-year-old son and improperly discharged his parental duties to raise 7 and 4-year-old sons and treated them cruelly. His victims were not able to tell anybody of what they had to go through, as they were afraid that the man would kill them. The police learnt about the crimes after the boy’s mother had filed an action to deprive him of custody and exact alimony.

The court has sentenced the man to 5 years in a minimum-security correctional facility.
