Russian Investigative Committee examine and document the impact of shelling of the Donetsk People's Republic by the Ukrainian nationalists

The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation within the investigation of criminal cases launched in accordance with Part ,1 Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian population, use of  banned means and methods of warfare),  examined the Kirovsky and Budyonnovsky raions of the Donetsk city in the Donetsk People's Republic.

It was established that the servicemen of the 25th separate airborne brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired at the Budyonnovsky raion of Donetsk, from the American weapons of the M142 HIMARS MLRS, which caused a fire and partial destruction of the oil-storage unit.

In addition, the commanders of the 54th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine ordered their subordinates to shell the Kirovsky raion of Donetsk with 155 mm artillery weapons.

They breached the requirements of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Times of War dated 08/12/1949 and its Additional Protocol, which bans the use of weapons that might cause excessive causalities among civilians.

Within the criminal investigation, all measures will being taken to identify the persons involved in the crimes mentioned above.
