On the investigation of a criminal case launched on charges of injury to the young girl as a result of riding a faulty attraction

Investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in the Sverdlovsk region continue the investigation of the criminal case of an offense under paragraphs "b," "c" of Part 2 of Art.238 of the RF Criminal Code (provision of services that do not meet safety requirements, if these acts were committed in respect of services for children under the age of six years and resulted in the infliction of serious harm to human health through negligence).

Criminal proceedings were launched on the fact that the August 8, 2012 about 8 p.m. near the shopping center, located on the Sirenevy Boulevard street in Ekaterinburg, during the ride on "New Swans” attraction, an 11-year-old girl fell from a height of about 3 meters and sustained a bodily injury in the form of a closed craniocerebral injury, brain contusion, bruising of soft tissues of the face, abrasions of the upper and lower extremities.

At the request of the investigators the court has imposed a pre-trial restraint measure in the form of detention against 48-year-old private entrepreneur Ashot Minasyan, who owns the "New Swans" attraction. At present, the investigator is performing a set of necessary investigative actions aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the offense, the question on bringing charges of the alleged crime to the accused is under consideration. The attraction constructions are taken under protection for further forensic and technical expertise. The criminal investigation continues.
