Bryansk Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have completed investigating a criminal case against a 51-year-old Valery Lipeyev from Bryansk accused of a crime under part 3 of article 159 of the RF Criminal Code (swindling on a grand scale).

According to investigators, in the period between September and November 2011, Lopeyev twice submitted documents to Bryansk Region Department of Economic Development to receive subsidies assigned for support of small and average business in innovation activity. Knowing that the enterprise he was representing and which was headed by his son was not engaged in any innovation activity and did not meet the subsidizing requirements, Lipeyev forged the necessary documents. As a result, the overall sum of money illegally received from the budget exceeded 1 million 200 thousand rubles.

Investigators have collected enough evidence and accordingly the case with approved indictment is forwarded to the court to be tried on the merits.
