Tambov Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have initiated a criminal case against Chief of Criminal Investigation Department in Rzhaksinsky district of Uvarovsky Municipal Entity of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs. He is suspected of a crime under part 1 of article 286 of the RF Criminal Code (exceeding official powers).

According to investigators, one of the investigators of the police department was working on a case over arson of a car owned by an agricultural cooperative. At the order of the Chief of Criminal Investigation Department in Rzhaksinsky district of Uvarovsky Municipal Entity of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs the investigator passed a resolution on transfer of material evidence – the car – to the chairman of the cooperative for safekeeping. After that the suspect, having received the agreement of the owner, took the car from the premises of the police department and gave it up to the ferrous and nonferrous metals receiving point, the money received he spent on his own needs.

At present investigating operations are underway to establish all circumstances of the incident. Investigation is to be continued.
