In Volgograd Region, on eve of Victory Day employees of Investigative Committee congratulate veteran of Great Patriotic War

On the eve of the Victory Day the staff of the Volgograd Region Investigations Directorate together with its head congratulated Georgy Isaakovich Rogovoy, a veteran of investigating job, participant of the Great Patriotic War on his 90th anniversary. Mr. Rogovoy welcomed the guests together with his grandchildren and great grandson. He was wearing all his decorations, a smile on his face and full of optimism. At the table he told his guests about the secret of his long life and promised to invite them to his 100th anniversary.

During the Great Patriotic War Mr. Rogovoy was a commander of a machinegun platoon. In 1942 he was seriously wounded, but six months later was back on the frontline right from the hospital and took part in the breakthrough of Eastern Prussia’s border at the Second Belorussian Front.

After the War Mr. Rogovoy was sent to serve in Stalingrad, where until 1954 he served in an office for prisoners of war and integrated. When graduated from the Saratov Lay Institute in 1957, he dedicated all his life to fighting against crimes. He started as an investigator with the prosecutor’s office in Voroshilov District in Stalingrad. Moving up the career Mr. Rogovoy in different years was a senior investigator, a prosecutor of the office for supervision over investigations and inquiries in the public order bodies, and them an assistance prosecutor of the Volgograd Region. He retired in 1979, but remained faithful to his profession. He still actively participates in the events held by the Volgograd Region Investigations Directorate sharing his personal and professional experience with young employees. By the order of Chairman of the Russia’s Investigative Committee A.I. Bastrykin senior councilor of justice Georgy Rogovoy was awarded the medal Valor and Courage in June 2012 for assisting in solving the tasks entrusted to the Investigative Committee, many-year and fruitful cooperation with investigating bodies of the Investigative Committee, courage and heroism displayed during the Great Patriotic War.
