On 3 November 2014, at around 1 AM, a car of traffic police of office of the Russian Ministry of Defense for Solnechnogorsk District of Moscow Region with two dead bodies of police officers with gunshot wounds was found on the side of the M1 Russia – Perepechino road. Moscow Region Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee has launched a criminal investigation in crimes under article 317 of the RF Penal Code (attempt on life of a law enforcement official) and part 1 of article 222 (illegal circulation of firearms).

An investigating staff has been set up to investigate the case. On the order of the senior officials of the Russia’s Investigative Committee experienced criminalists of the Central Office have joined the investigation.

It has been preliminarily revealed that the traffic police officers were patrolling the road. By now the specialists have confiscated from the crime scene 17 cartridge cases and 5 bullets, presumably, from Makarov gun. Large-scale operations are underway to find out all the circumstances of the crime and hold the persons involved.
