In Altai Republic members of stable armed group to stand court

The investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee for the Republic of Altai have finished investigating a criminal case against four residents of the Republic of Altai: a 29-year-old man, 20-year-old Yuri Kozlov, 24-year-old Ivan Kolyv, 21-year-old Oleg Sultanov and a minor. They are charged with crimes under part 2 of article 209 of the RF Penal Code, paragraph “a” of part 4 of article 158, paragraph “a” of part 3 of article 161, paragraph “a” part 4 of article 162, part 3 of article 222 and part 3 of article 223 (banditry, theft, robbery, illegal manufacture, transmission, storage, carrying of firearms committed by an organized group).

According to investigators, in November 2013, the accused joined an armed group organized by a 29-year-old man for armed attacks on citizens to rob them of their things. The accused in the armed group committed a number of serious crimes in Chemal District, Republic of Altai – thefts and robberies. For their crimes the accused used firearms and pump action pistols.

During the probe one of the accused Aleksey Matin concluded a pre-investigating cooperation agreement, confessed to the crimes and exposed other accused, a criminal case against him with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.

The criminal case against Kozlov, Kolyv and Sultanov with the approved indictment has been sent to court to be tried on the merits.

Additionally, the criminal case with a warrant on medical measures against the organizer of the gang, the 29-year-old man, is going to go to court soon.
