Investigative Committee investigators and criminalists together with operative police officers during efficient search and investigative operations have detained a 20-year-old resident of Moscow Region Pavel Voytov and his 25-year-old friend from Moscow Yelena Lobacheva.

According to investigators, between July 2014 and February 2015, Voytov killed homeless people and alcoholics in Moscow. He did it in deserted places at nighttime. The investigators have revealed that Voytov committed seven murders and Lobacheva was involved in four of them. According to the suspect he wanted to “clean” the city.

Following a request of investigators a court has today ruled to place both suspects in custody until 27 March 2015.
