In Moscow attackers on deputy Roman Khudyakov jailed

A court has recognized the evidence presented by Moscow Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee sufficient to convict Zakaria Gadzhiyev, Shamil Gadzhiyev, Alexander Atapin and Artur Minbulatov. Depending on the role of each one, they were found guilty of crimes under part 3 of article 163 of the RF Criminal Code (extortion), part 1 of article 161 (robbery), part 2 of article 115 of the RF Criminal Code (intentional infliction of minor bodily harm), and article 119 (threat of murder).

The court and investigators found that, on July 9, 2013, Minbulatov in a Toyota Land Cruiser made a dangerous maneuver creating an accident with the car of Roman Khudyakov near a building on Berezhkovskaya Street. The off-roader driver pulled up the Khudiakov’s car to the curb and made it stop. Then the car driver and passenger Gadzhiyev came out and struck multiple blows at the victim’s head. At that moment, when the victim tried to take a shot the attackers’ car number plate on his cell phone camera, Minbulatov and Gadzhiyev demanded to give them the phone and tried to get into the deputy’s car, threatening him with firearms. Khudyakov managed to escape.

In addition, investigators established the involvement of Minbulatov and Gadzhiyev in another crime. The above-mentioned case and the case of extorting 30 million rubles from a businessman and open stealing his mobile phone by the accused in complicity with Shamil Gadzhiyev and Alexander Atapin in March 2013 were filed in a single law suit.

The court sentenced Zakaria Gadzhiyev to 9.5 years in prison, Artur Minbulatov to 8 years and 8 months, Shamil Gadzhiyev to 8 years and Alexander Antipov to 8.5 years, all sentences to be served in a maximum-security penal colony.
