In Moscow Region two men and a woman suspected of selling a baby

The Moscow Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation against two men and a woman on charges of a crime under paragraphs “b” and “h” of part 2 of article 127.1 of the RF Penal Code (traffic of a minor).

According to investigators, the 31-year-old woman arrived in the town of Mytishchi to have a baby. Two of her acquaintances learnt about her situation and offered to sell the baby. The woman agreed and conspired with the men to sell her daughter born on 5 March 2015. In accordance with the roles they had distributed beforehand, the men found a buyer, an undercover official of the Main Crime Detection Office of the Ministry of the Interior, who agreed to buy the girl for 600 thousand rubles. On 10 March 2015, in the evening between blocks of flats in Seleznyov street in Mytishchi the three suspects sold the baby to the undercover police officers, who represented themselves as a husband and wife, for 590 thousand rubles.

The suspects are in detention. Custodial restraint is expected soon. The baby was put in an infant room of Mytishchi town hospital. The investigation is ongoing.
