In Vologda Region man to stand trial for kidnapping woman, killing her and robbery

Vologda Region investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have finished investigating a criminal case against Dmitry Andreyev. He is charged with crimes under paragraphs “c”, “d” and “h” of part 2 of article 126 of the RF penal Code (abduction), paragraphs “b” and “c” of part 4 of article 162 (robbery), paragraphs “c” and “h” of part 2 of article 105 (murder), part 2 of article 325 (stealing of important personal documents).

According to investigators, in the evening of 28 August 2014, the accused for the purpose to abducting the wife of the CEO of OOO Cherepovets Tube-Rolling Mill, who worked as an accountant there, blocked the road to the mill with tree trunks tied up together. The woman was driving home and had to stop the car and leave it. The accused approached her from behind and hit her on the head at least 7 times with a wooden handle of a sledgehammer he had bought in advance. The man put the woman in her car and set behind the wheel. He drove to the field near the village of Shukhobod, Cherepovets District and there he saw that the woman was dead. He put the body in the trunk, drove to Kirillov District, hid the body in the woods and sent 2 text messages from her cell phone to her husband demanding a ransom of 3 million rubles. In addition the accused stole from the victim 26 thousand rubles, the Toyota Rav 4 car worth almost 1.3 million rubles owned by the company, passport, driving license and car documents.

The investigators have gathered enough evidence, so the case with the approved indictment will soon be sent to court to be tried on the merits.
