Investigation opened in food poisoning in kindergarten in Vladivostok

Primorye Territory investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in food poisoning of children in a kindergarten in the city of Vladivostok – a crime under paragraph “b” of part 2 of article 238 of the RF Penal Code (providing services that do not meet safety standards).

It was reported earlier that on 14 April 2015, several children displayed signs of food poisoning after having had lunch in kindergarten No 121 in the city of Vladivostok. The children received medical aid. The next day the local office of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights protection and Human Wellbeing registered 21 cases of enteric infection among the children from the said kindergarten. The sanitation investigation revealed multiple violations in cooking meals there. The crime was revealed by officials of Primorye Territory prosecutor’s Office.

At present the investigators are identifying the people in charge of meeting the requirements to the meals. The investigation is ongoing.
