In Bashkortostan criminal investigation launched in murder of 5 in Kumertau

On 17 April 2015, law enforcement bodies of Bashkortostan received a report that 5 dead bodies with signs of violent death had been found on a fire site in the town of Kumertau. Bashkortostan investigating bodies of the Russia’s Investigative Committee have launched a criminal investigation in a crime under paragraph “a” of part 2 of article 105 of the RF penal Code (murder of 2 or more people).

According to investigators, a fire started in a two-room flat in the town of Kumertau in the morning of 17 April 2015. Firefighters of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Main Office for Bashkortostan put out the fire and found 5 dead bodies with stab wounds. The police are now identifying the bodies. Presumably the victims are a man and a woman who owned the flat, two young women and a young man.

At present investigative and search operations are underway ti find out all the circumstances of the crime and identify a person or people involved in it. The investigators are examining the scene. A forensic medical expert examination has been assigned to find out the death cause. The investigation is ongoing.
