In Yekaterinburg, investigation finished against deputy of Yekaterinburg City Duma Oleg Kinyov

The fourth investigative department of the Main Investigations Directorate of the Russia’s Investigative Committee based in the city of Yekaterinburg has finished investigating a criminal case against Sergey Chuvakov. He is charged with a crime under part 4 of article 159 of the RF Penal Code (fraud).

According to investigators, in November 2013, an 80-year-old woman from Yekaterinburg applied to Yekaterinburg City Duma to help her to be placed in a nursing home. Kinyov took up the issue and gained the woman’s trust and in spring 2014 he fraudulently got hold of her three-room apartment. He registered the apartment in the name of his aide Sergey Chuvakov.

In 2014, the woman learned about the fraud and filed a report with the police. She also applied several times to the city mayor – Chairman of the City Duma complaining about Kinyov. Having learned about that, Kinyov hired two residents of Sverdlovsk Region to kill the elderly woman for 100 thousand rubles.  The said men killed the woman in May 2014. The next day one of them dismembered the body, took it out and hid on a dump located in a swamp in the woods.

It is worth noting that all the defendants pleaded guilty.

The investigators have enough evidence so the criminal case against Chuvakov, that was severed in a separate proceeding because he concluded a cooperation deal, has been forwarded for the indictment to be approved and them will be sent to court to be tried on the merits.

At the present time the criminal case against Oleg Kinyov and two killers are almost complete, while the accused and their lawyers are reading the case files. As soon as they are finished, the case will be sent to prosecutor so that they decide on getting it before court.
