Alexander Bastrykin resolves to award Pavel Karpenko medal For Distinction

The 4-year-old boy who was missing for several days in Sverdlovsk Region was found yesterday by joint efforts of law-enforcement authorities, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, officials of municipal authorities and of course volunteers.

Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee has made a decision to award volunteer Pavel Karpenko who saved the boy medal For Distinction.

Mr. Bastrykin said: “I sincerely thank each and every one who did not spare their time or effort and rushed to find a missing boy forgot by his parents in the woods. Special gratitude goes to Pavel Karpenko, volunteer who found the exhausted boy.”

The Chairman reminded that it was the fourth such case over recent time, when law-enforcers and ordinary people unite their efforts and save a child. Each of those saved children is not only a saved life and happy smiles on the faces of all people who care, it is a contribution in the future of our country!

Expressing deep gratitude to all citizens involved in joint search and rescue operations, the Chairman thanked volunteer organizations Liza Alert and Sokol for kind hearts, unlimited energy and faith. “This case proves once more that unity is our strength!”
