A video depicting the murder of captured Russian servicemen by Ukrainian nationalists has been published online. The video also captures shooting a dying Russian prisoner dead. One of the victims has his hands tied behind his back, which indicates that the serviceman died not during a combat mission, but while in captivity. The video was shot in Kiev Oblast.

As a result of these criminal actions, the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian military formations grossly violated the Geneva Convention relative to Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Following this incident, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation instructed the investigators of the Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia to initiate a criminal case, to find out exactly where and when the abovementioned video was made, to conduct a thorough and comprehensive investigation of the circumstances of the incident, to document the evidence of the Ukrainian nationalists' crimes, establishing the identities of those involved in the crime.
