The Main Investigative Department of the IC of Russia continues recording the crimes committed by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and nationalists against the civilian population of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Two more criminal cases have been initiated on the facts of new massive attacks on the grounds of a crime under Part 1, Article 356 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (ill-treatment of the civilian population; the use in an armed conflict of means and methods prohibited by an international treaty of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation, from April 3 to April 4, 2022, servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other Ukrainian military formations carried out massive targeted artillery and mortar attacks in the Lugansk People’s Republic using heavy types of weapons with high damaging properties against civilian infrastructure facilities, which were not military targets, in the cities of Pervomaysk, Rubezhnoe, as well as in the towns of Donetsky and Krasny Yar.

Under similar circumstances, massive targeted artillery and mortar attacks from heavy types of weapons with high damaging properties were carried out in the Donetsk People’s Republic against civilian infrastructure facilities in the cities of Donetsk and Mariupol, as well as in the towns of Golmovsky, Yelenovka, Vladimirovka.

The shelling killed two people, injured 14 civilians, including two minors, and damaged civilian infrastructure facilities.

The Investigative Committee of Russia continues to identify officials from among the Ukrainian military and nationalists involved in these crimes against the peace and security of mankind.
