Chairman of the IC of Russia Instructs Officials to Investigate Crimes Committed by Ukrainian Military in Kharkov Oblast

A.I. Bastrykin, the Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has instructed investigators as part of a criminal case to establish the circumstances of the explosion of a dam by Ukrainian military personnel in Kharkov Oblast. In addition, facts of mining roads by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in order to prevent attempts by civilians to leave for Russia will be established and investigated.

According to the National Defense Control Center of the Russian Federation, Ukrainian servicemen are mining roadsides in Kharkov Oblast in the northern and eastern directions. These actions are aimed at intimidating civilians who are making independent attempts to evacuate to Russia. Also, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine blew up the dam of the Oskolskoe reservoir in Kharkov Oblast. As a result, more than seven settlements located along the Seversky Donets River were under the threat of flooding. It is reported that the town of Svyatogorsk, Kramatorsk Raion, with a population of more than 4,000 people, has already been flooded.

A.I. Bastrykin has instructed the investigators to take comprehensive measures to identify all the persons involved in this with a view to subsequently bringing them to criminal liability.
